Don't trust online checkout yet? Order through us, on WhatsApp.
We understand. Many of our patrons have never ordered a ₹50,000 saree from a domain they don't yet know — and a card form on an unfamiliar website is the last place a trousseau decision should be made.
WhatsApp us your wishlist instead. A real human at the Mumbai atelier (not a bot, not a sales script) will confirm sizes, customisations, address, and shipping window. We then send a secure payment link, or accept UPI, NEFT, or a plain bank transfer — whichever you trust most.
On your first order, cash-on-delivery is open for parcels under ₹5,000. Pay the courier only when the saree is in your hands.

THE QUESTIONS BEFORE THE FIRST ORDER
Slow answers to the questions our first-time patrons ask
We have answered these for every patron who arrived from an Indian city we had never sold to before. These are the six that come up most often.
Safer than handing card details to an unknown checkout, in our view. You don't share any payment information until you've spoken to the atelier concierge, confirmed the saree, and decided how you want to pay. We share a Razorpay or PayU payment link (the same gateways that power most Indian banks' apps), accept UPI or NEFT to a registered company account in the name of Danyah Banaras Pvt Ltd, or arrange cash-on-delivery for first orders under ₹5,000. Every conversation stays on your phone — you can re-read it for as long as you keep the chat.
Four options, you pick. One — a Razorpay or PayU payment link, sent to your WhatsApp, opens in your bank's app or any card form you trust. Two — UPI: we send you the company VPA (danyahbanaras@hdfc) and the GST-registered company name, you pay from your usual UPI app. Three — NEFT or IMPS bank transfer; we send the account details, you transfer from your existing net-banking. Four — cash-on-delivery for first orders under ₹5,000, pay the DTDC or Delhivery courier when the saree arrives at your door.
Your WhatsApp chat is end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp itself — we cannot read it from a server, only from the concierge's phone. We store only your name, your shipping address, your phone number, and your order details — the bare minimum required to send a saree to you. We do not sell, share, or rent any of this. We do not run remarketing pixels on WhatsApp. Six months after delivery, we ask if you want to be kept on the atelier letter; if you say no, we delete everything except the GST invoice the law requires us to keep.
Yes — and we encourage it. The concierge will WhatsApp you the unedited atelier photographs (not the catalogue shots), a thirty-second drape video on a model of your height, and, on request, a five-minute video call holding the saree in the Mumbai atelier light. For commissions above ₹1 lakh, you can also book a free fifteen-minute video call with the founder. None of this requires a single rupee in advance.
Cash-on-delivery is open for first-time orders under ₹5,000 from any Indian address served by DTDC or Delhivery — which covers every pincode we've shipped to in the last year. After your first delivery, COD remains available up to ₹15,000 for repeat patrons. We don't offer COD on commissions or on orders above ₹15,000 because the courier insurance does not cover that amount on a return-to-origin parcel. For those, we ask for the smaller ₹5,000 commitment up-front, and the balance on dispatch.
By name: Priya, Ananya, or Riddhi — three full-time concierges who work out of our Bandra West atelier. Each of them has trained for at least eight months under the founder before answering a single message; they know every weaver on our roster, every silk in our stock, and every stitch our tailors offer. For purchases above ₹1 lakh, the founder Danyah Mehra answers directly. No outsourced call centre. No chatbot. The first reply almost always comes within thirty minutes between 10am and 10pm IST.
